Amy Lynn Lonergan has been practicing law in Lake County, IL since 2007 and Kenosha County, WI since 2013. She received her Juris Doctorate, as well as a Certificate from the Program in Energy and Environmental Law (PEEL), from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She double majored at the University of Charleston (Charleston, WV). During her undergraduate studies at University of Charleston, she interned with the West Virginia Environmental Council (WVEC) as a bill tracker and junior lobbyist.

During law school, she interned at the State of Illinois Attorney General’s office in the Special Litigation Bureau and also served as a volunteer grant writer for GreenTOWN Waukegan, Inc., an urban agriculture not-for-profit organization. Before joining Finn & Finn LTD, Amy practiced in personal injury law from 2007-2009 in Chicago and collar counties. She joined Finn & Finn in October 2009, while also serving as Assistant Corporation Counsel to the City of Waukegan until May 2013.

While Amy wanted to be an attorney since childhood, her rural upbringing also inspired a deep passion for helping others in the community who are less fortunate. This passion has led her to serve on many charitable boards, and she has been honored to be appointed to several governmental boards. She was honored to receive the Lake County Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award in 2015 for her contributions to the legal community. She also regularly attends non-denominational Christian services and volunteers in many faith-based organizations.

Amy resides in Kenosha, Wisconsin, with her husband David and their dog Titus and cat Prancer. Titus, a mixed breed rescue, also regularly visits the office, often upon request of clientele seeking comfort during a difficult period of their lives.
